Ughh! What a dreadful book!　　（2006-03-27）
Not at all like some of the earlier PC books. Lucy's lesbian love life seems to be a central theme now! Also, the book is written in present tense which makes for very difficult reading. I wouldn't recommend this one to anyone! Try one of Cornwell's older novels-or try-Quest-by-Giorgio Kostantinos--either way they will be more satisfing than this.

I waited with bated breath for each new title. Well, things have changed, her books have become steadily worse from about the last 4 onward. Each time I open a new one I think, 'this has got to be better.' Instead, they get more murky and so hard to follow that if I wasn't absolutly looking for some redeaming quality, I would toss the book (which, by the way, I don't do). I am thouroughly discusted by the characters development in this latest disaster. Who is Marino? Certainly not the Pete I knew. What about Lucy? Lets get some clarity here!!! The relationship between Kay and Benton is also not explained very well. I'm sorry but one of Patricia Cornwell's biggest fans is about to say goodbye. Try one of Cornwell's older novels-or try-Quest-by-Giorgio Kostantinos--either way they will be more satisfing than this.

いろいろな話が、大輪の花火のように広がっていますが、いつのまにか、音もなく消えてしまったという感じです。今度こそ、今度こそと期待を抱いて読むのですが、これが最後かな。残念

検視官からはや数年、いや数十年。新作が出るたびに話の内容がコクなってきている。今回も注目すべきところは、スカ－ペッタ、マリーノ、ルーシーの人間関係そして、毎回出てくる最新の現場検証の装置や検死解剖のシステムだろう。ぜひ他の人にも読んでほしい
