Reads like a novel.　　（2005-06-14）
I can’t believe that this is a biography. I mean, it was so entertaining; I thought it was a novel. Matter of fact, it reads better than some of the well-known bestsellers. The book takes you from the birth of Jackie to his opera school days and how he ran into once in a lifetime opportunity for becoming a stunt man and eventually becoming an international superstar. Since Jackie Chan himself wrote the book, you’ll actually get very close and personal with his past, present, and future. There is even a small section dedicated solely to Bruce Lee. I am a big fan of Bruce Lee, so reading about him in Jackie Chan’s biography made me very happy. I especially enjoyed reading about what Jackie was thinking and the things that was going through his mind at every scene of his life.

貧しい家庭に生まれたやんちゃな男の子がハリウッドのスターに成長するまでのお話が、読みやすく魅力ある文章で書かれています。香港カンフー映画ファンの私にとって、サモ・ハン・キンポーやユン・ピョウとの出会いから様々な出来事を経ての友情のお話は涙モノですし、初恋から某有名歌手との破局、奥様との成り染めなどあまり知られることのなかったプライベートな部分について語られているのも興味深いです。

最後に載っている出演作品一覧では、個々の作品に対する感想や思い出等が書かれていますが、そんなこと書いて大丈夫？と心配になるほど、辛口（正直！？）なものもあり、ハラハラしながら作品の側面を楽しめます。時間に余裕のある方は全ての映画を見ながら読むのもおもしろいと思います。
