It's a gem!
(2001-05-05)
Although Wayne W.Dyner seems quite popular in the USA, I had never read his book before this thick hard-cover "Wisdom of the Ages." I found this book very inspirational and educational. This book is a collection of passages written by 60 great people of the past 25 centuries plus Wayne's interpretation and explanation to each passage. First I was overwhelmed by the diversity of his selections, from Pythagoras to Mother Teresa, from old to new, from east to west. It's a real gem of pieces of wisdom. Or I would say it's like a sky strewn with a lot of stars, or a huge tapestry woven with all colors of threads, or a spring garden alive with all sorts of flowers. And every piece is in perfect harmony. Many of his selections are poems and not all of them are easy to understand especially for those who use English as a foreign language. But Wayne's explanation about each poem is clearly understandable. He helps us have a vivid image of each poem. I wish I could have learned poetry like he teaches in this book.
