Interesting.　　（2001-11-28）
The author's account of a year spent as a JET (assistant English teacher)in a Japanese Junior High School it at times very funny and generally very interesting. As someone who is participating in the same program it was slightly scary to read that things in Japanese schools haven't changed all that much in the last 10 years. The book is perceptive, well researched and shows the author's fondness for Japan and its' people.
